blip
Also known as: blips
bLIPs (Bitcoin Lightning Improvement Proposals) are pieces of specification for the Lightning Network protocol. Unlike the documents found in the BOLTs specification, bLIPs are typically optional new features that implementations can choose to develop or not, and node operators to deploy or not. The bLIPs process aims at simplifying the submission and adoption of new features outside of the more rigid BOLTs framework through quicker iteration, and provides a reference location for reserving feature bits, message types or TLV fields.
